Step-by-step recovery plan
First 2–3 hours
- Do not eat until the anesthesia has worn off.
- Drink cool water in small sips.
First 24 hours
- Avoid hard and sticky foods on the side of the temporary filling.
- Moderate sensitivity or a dull aching pain may occur.
- Try not to put pressure on the treated tooth.
Days 2–3
- Discomfort usually decreases.
- Continue normal oral hygiene, avoiding the area of the temporary filling.
- If pain increases or the filling falls out, inform your doctor.
